  • 10988NAT Certificate III in Dance Practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
    Who Can Apply?
    This course is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people between 16-26 years of age who may have some or no dance or cultural training but have a passion for dance and culture.All applicants considering joining NAISDA for Certificate or Diploma courses should complete the Certificate III application form. Candidacy for these course will be assessed during the audition period.
  • 10841NAT Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance Performance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
    Who Can Apply?
    The Advanced Diploma is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists entering their final 18 months of study before progressing to a professional dance career; or for artists already practising within the industry wishing to upskill their professional practice.

NAISDA’s nationally accredited courses are rich in cultural learning and practice and are intended to provide skills, applied knowledge, theoretic knowledge and cultural Knowings across a range of dance genres from contemporary to cultural dance, with the primary intention of preparing for successful careers in the preforming arts. Application & Auditions Process

Keen to apply? Great! Here’s how the process works.

Step 1 – Apply

Read through the relevant Course Information Guide and Application and Auditions Guide.

Complete the Application Form (link) before 22 August 2022. The application takes about 10 minutes to complete. Ideally, you’ll have photo ID ready to upload to provide evidence of identity.

You will receive an email confirming your application has been received (check your email SPAM folder if you don’t see your confirmation email) and NAISDA will then contact you to advise next steps.

Step 2 – Onsite Audition

Successful candidates will be invited to a three-day onsite audition at NAISDA on Darkinjung Country, Kariong, New South Wales from 4 to 6 October 2022.

This will help us get to know you better and it’s also a great opportunity for you to meet our trainers, find out more about us and explore the campus.

You can apply to Centrelink for ABSTUDY funding for your audition related travel and living costs via the Services Australia website. We encourage applicants to familiarise themselves with this process now to save time in the event of receiving an invitation to attend the onsite audition.

Step 3 – Study Offers

Following auditions, NAISDA’s review panel will meet and all auditionees will be contacted. Successful auditionees will receive an offer to study at NAISDA in 2023.

Key Dates

4-6 October 2022 – Onsite auditions at NAISDA
December 2022 – Successful auditionees contacted with Study Offers
30 January 2023 – Term One commences

  • You provide consent for the information to be used by NAISDA for the purposes of the 2022 Application and Audition process and understand that if successful, you will be invited to a three-day onsite audition.
  • You provide consent for NAISDA to use the contact information in any saved or partially completed applications for the purposes of the 2022 Application process.
  • Submission of the application does not guarantee an audition invitation.
  • Applications for NAISDA courses (that commence in 2023) close on 22 August 2022.
  • There are a limited number of places available. Selection is based on merit; not all applicants who meet the published entry requirements will receive a study offer.
  • All applicants are required to review the Application and Auditions Guide and Course Information Pack.
  • NAISDA regrets that it is not possible to provide applicants with individual written or oral feedback on their application.
  • Applicants who receive a Study Offer for 2023 must accept the offer within the time frame indicated within the Study Offer.
  • Study at NAISDA expects that all students are fully vaccinated under NSW Government recommendations.
