20 Year Vision

NAISDA’s Vision

NAISDA is a dynamic cultural organisation that creates and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and wisdom through excellence and innovation in dance and performing arts education and training.

NAISDA’s Principles

We are shaped by and respond to:

The needs and aspirations of today’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and communities across Australia and;

NAISDA is growing and new opportunities are before us.  Student numbers are rising and attendance is high.

NAISDA is continuously refining its plans to accommodate the growth of the organisation and to ensure that Indigenous performing arts and cultural practice thrives both nationally and internationally.  By providing excellence in Indigenous dance and performing arts education, we are able to make a significant contribution to building greater understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Non Indigenous Australians.

Strong growth in enrolments means that NAISDAs current facilities will be fully utilised by 2015 and we are on track to reach 100 Developing Artists (DAs) by 2018.   Extra studio facilities and further accommodation for our DAs will be urgently required.

With many young people choosing to come to NAISDA at 16 – 18 years of age, it is important that NAISDA can offer onsite accommodation that is culturally and age appropriate.
