Scholarships

A range of scholarships, bursaries and support is available to NAISDA Developing and Practising Artists and recent graduates through the generous support of our partner supporters and foundations.

They include:

The Joanne Harris Scholarship Fund

More Information

Joanne Harris spent her life studying, teaching and performing dance. Thanks to her legacy, NAISDA is able to offer a unique range of annual scholarships and bursaries to help young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance artists pursue their training and career pathways.

The William Rubensohn Foundation NAISDA Scholarship

More Information

The William Rubensohn Foundation was established in 2002, in remembrance of William Rubensohn, an entrepreneurial businessman based in Sydney. Due to the Foundation’s generosity, NAISDA is able to annually offer five bursaries of $2,000 each to assist with Developing Artists’ training and living expenses during their studies.

The bursaries are designed to help alleviate the stress and anxiety during the first year of study at NAISDA, and intended to assist Developing Artists who might not have otherwise been able to take up an offer of a place at NAISDA without this financial help.

Lucy Guerin Inc NAISDA Internship

More Information

Each year, recent NAISDA graduates are invited to apply to join Lucy Guerin Inc for a paid internship. Supported throughout by a First Nations mentor, the internship offers the selected Developing Artist an introduction to life as an independent dance artist in Melbourne.

The Zonta Scholarship

More Information

The Zonta Scholarship is generously donated by the Zonta Club of Central Coast and is awarded annually to two female Developing Artists studying at NAISDA to support their studies, help them work toward goals and alleviate financial stress. The application and selection process is completed in Term One by the Zonta Interview Panel.
