NAISDA launches four scholarships under the Joanne Harris Scholarship Fund - 26.05.17

NAISDA is proud to announce four unique scholarships, which have been made possible thanks to the Joanne Harris Scholarship Fund.

Joanne Harris spent her life studying, teaching and performing dance. Thanks to her legacy, NAISDA is able to offer a unique range of scholarships to help young Indigenous dance artists pursue their passions.

Scholarships available in 2017 include:

  • Pre-Professional Support Scholarship
  • Early Talent Identification Scholarship
  • NAISDA Bursary Program
  • Gifted & Talented Scholarship

Early Talent Identification Scholarship

Open date: 3 June 2017 | Close date: 14 August 2017

This scholarship is available to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander high school students aged 16 to 18 years living outside NSW. Eligible applicants can apply for an Early Talent Identification scholarship to attend NAISDA’s annual Garabara Ngurra Dance Camp. This grant is for up to $3,000 and will be selected on application.

Pre-Professional Support – NAISDA Graduate Scholarship

Open date: 3 June 2017 | Close date: 14 August 2017

This scholarship is open to recent NAISDA Graduates (1 – 3 years) to take the next step in their professional careers. This may be used for professional training, work placement or study. This grant is for up to $10,000 and will be selected on the merit of the application.

Gifted & Talented Scholarship

Open date: 23 May 2017 | Close date: 30 May 2017

NAISDA is able to offer a Scholarship to a NAISDA Diploma Developing Artist to attend the 6 week Alvin Ailey Summer School in New York or other like programs approved by NAISDA. This grant is for up to $10,000 and will be selected on the merit of the application.

NAISDA Bursary Program

Open date: 23 May 2017 | Close date: 7 June 2017

The NAISDA Bursary Program is open to NAISDA Developing Artists who have completed at least one year of study at NAISDA. NAISDA is able to offer a number of bursaries to in-need Developing Artists to assist with living expenses.
