Tessarna Cora

Tessarna Cora is a young Developing Artist belonging to the Dhungutti and Minjungbul Bunjalung peoples of NSW.
She has practised traditional dance performing as part of dance troupes Bunjalung Kunjiel and Biren Cultural Group as well as at events including Bleach Festival, Kinship Festival and the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner in Los Angeles, California in 2023.
Over the past three years Tessarna has been developing her technique and learning under industry artists and companies including CIRCA Cairns, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Gravity and Other Myths, Deon Hastie, Chima Valvanis, Karul Projects, Thomas ES Kelly and Lee Serle.
She performed in the NAISDA 2024 production of ‘The Trees have Voices, the Feet have Ears’, directed by Vicki Van Hout, featuring in ‘Fire’ and ‘Smoke’ choreographed by Henrietta Baird.
Tessarna has enjoyed the opportunity and privilege of learning cultural practice and knowledge and attending cultural residencies with Cultural Tutors and remote communities across Australia, including NSW traditional dances, Yolngu dances from North East Arnhem Land and Torres Strait Islander songs and dances from Moa Island.
Tessarna’s goals are to strengthen her dance training, technique and cultural knowledge alongside developing working relationships with companies and professional industry contacts such as Legs On The Wall and Blakdance.
