Heather comes from North-East Arnhem Land, Elcho Island, Galiwin’ku. She was born in 1967 and raised in Darwin and her schooling and college there. She then moved to Elcho Island in 1982 and married Tony in 1985. Since then she has been learning from Tony and her father’s family side about her cultural dances, songs and language.
The NAISDA Developing Artists dance just like the people from Elcho Island and other surrounding communities. This is like a dream come true to come to NAISDA and teach and share her songs and dances.
