Drew Walker

Drew is a proud Wiradjuri woman born and raised on Dharug Land in Blacktown. She is 22 years old and has been training in dance since she was five. She is currently studying for her Diploma in Professional Dance Performance at NAISDA. Drew is grateful to have participated in the Aboriginal Ensemble at Schools Spectacular during high school from Years 8 to12. In 2016 and 2017 she attended week-long dance camps at NAISDA called Garabara Ngurra. This motivated her decision to train with NAISDA fulltime. Drew participated in Bangarra’s Rekindling Youth Program in April 2021 using stories from Dharug Elder Wes Marne to create a dance piece under the direction of Sidney Salter, Sani Townson and Mitchell Currie.
Drew auditioned to train at NAISDA in order to develop her dance, cultural and creative knowledge. In 2023 she worked under the direction of NAISDA Head of Dance Deon Hastie performing in NAISDA’s 2023 Mid-Year show ATI at Carriageworks, Sydney.
