NAISDA, Lucy Guerin Inc and Joel Bray Dance have established a partnership together to advance the professional development of NAISDA graduates into the professional dance sector.
In 2024, a recent NAISDA graduate will join Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI) and Joel Bray Dance for a 4-week paid internship in Melbourne, including:
A 2-week secondment with LGI, from Monday 16 September – Friday 27 September 2024
A 2-week secondment with Joel Bray Dance, from Monday 30 September – Friday 11 October 2024(4x consecutive weeks)

The artistic merit of your work. To be determined by the following support material attached with your application
Resume (limit: 2 pages)
Links to your most recent work (limit: 5 minutes, please identify yourself in the work if you are performing with others)
Letter of support from professional arts institution, artist, mentor, community member or other
Reviews of past work, links to websites, blogs, YouTube etc
Upon receipt, the NAISDA panel will evaluate the application. Subsequently, shortlisted applicants who meet the criteria will undergo final selection by Lucy Guerin Inc. This process may involve a phone interview with Lucy Guerin and a First Nations mentor based in Melbourne.

INTERNSHIP CONDITIONS

LGI will provide the Graduate Intern with a weekly wage, per diems, and accommodation for 4 weeks of full-time engagement in Melbourne.
1x return economy class airfare from NSW – Melbourne.
Access to various LGI programs free-of-charge, including Company rehearsals, professional classes and workshops (scheduling dependent).
Digital check-ins with LGI before, during and after the internship period, to support deeper engagement across the program.
Supported throughout by First Nations mentor Joel Bray, this internship aims to offer the selected artist an introduction to life as an independent dance artist in Melbourne and support them in developing strong connections to the professional dance industry.
