Debra Schleger nominated for prestigious Central Coast Australia Day Awards - 23.01.18

Congratulations to NAISDA Dance College’s Chief Operating Officer, Debra Schleger, who has been nominated for the Arts, Culture & Entertainment Award at the prestigious Central Coast Australia Day Awards 2018.

Debra has dedicated her career to the arts, culture and heritage sector and this nomination recognises the extraordinary contributions she has made to the cultural and creative life of the Central Coast.

As a vital member of the NAISDA Executive Team, Debra’s key leadership and guidance has seen NAISDA Dance College recognised as one of our country’s premier arts training organisations, supporting Australia’s thriving creative economy.

Above all, perhaps Debra’s greatest achievement is the positive and quantifiable impact she has made, and continues to make, on NAISDA’s graduating and Developing Artists’ lives. Her overwhelming priority is to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of NAISDA’s young artists, many of whom are living away from family on the NAISDA campus for the first time.

Through her unwavering advocacy and empathy she seeks to empower, guide and champion NAISDA’s young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, investing in them, mentoring and inspiring them to become Australia’s next generation of creative and cultural leaders.

The Central Coast Australia Day Awards 2018 will be held on 25 January 2018 at Laycock Street Theatre.
