Position Vacant: Teaching Artists for The Song Room - 19.05.17

The Song Room is a national not-for-profit organisation that provides enhanced learning opportunities for schools and communities through creative arts programs that are proven by research to lift academic performance, attendance and wellbeing.

The organisation is seeking some wonderful Teaching Artists with an Aboriginal background who can deliver programs in Aboriginal Arts And Culture to Primary School children.

The Song Room is looking for Aboriginal Artists, Dancers, Singers or Musicians to deliver weekly workshops at primary schools in the Bankstown area throughout Terms 3 and 4 this year.

The position will comprise working at a school one day per week with five to six classes of children, delivering Aboriginal arts and culture workshops.

The Deadly Arts program is an opportunity for primary students and their teachers to learn about Aboriginal Arts and Cultural practises; it is also a great opportunity for schools to learn about and connect with local Aboriginal culture.
