Vicki Van Hout is of Wiradjuri descendant. She took part as an actor in the first playwright’s conference in Canberra before becoming a graduate of NAISDA Dance College and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance NYC (graduated 1993).
Vicki has performed with Bangarra in the groundbreaking work, ‘Ochres’ and with AIDT The Company, ‘Edge of the Sacred’. She has performed with One Extra and Fresh Dancers with Marilyn Miller to focus on corporate and commercial markets, a highlight of which was an overseas residency in Innsbruck Austria.
Wirad’journi was Vicki’s first full length work inspired by the Wiradjuri kinship laws. ‘My Right Foot Your Right Foot’ her second work, was developed at the Australian Choreographic Centre. Vicki has choreographed work for ATYP, Pulse8, NAISDA, WAA PA, The Helpman Awards, Quantum Leap. Recent works include Brywant. Vicki is working on her new piece Long Grass.
Vicki is currently teaching the Contemporary Dance Program at NAISDA Dance College.
