Olivia Kirkman

Olivia is a proud Dunghutti women, who grew up in Dubbo, NSW.

She is currently living on Darkinjung Country, studying Diploma of Professional Dance Performance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. at NAISDA. Olivia has been dancing since three, training in different styles with a focus on ballet having completed her RAD Advanced 1. Whilst at NAISDA Olivia has studied under Jasmin Sheppard, Lee Serle, Angie Diaz, Alfred Taahi, Deon Hastie and Sean Byrnes. She has participated in workshops led by Independent First Nations artist Joel Bray, as well as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre alumnus and choreographer Alvin Rangel, and Sydney Dance Company’s Summer Professional Intensive.

Olivia has performed In NAISDA’s mid year and end of year productions. She has also performed in the 2022 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras with Jannawi Dance Clan. A large part of Olivia’s life is her connection to culture, and finding the place where culture and dance meet. She has performed with cultural groups Gawura Cultural Immersions with Stuart McMinn and Thikkabilla Vibrations with Tyrone Gordon. Olivia’s goal after graduating NAISDA is to have a successful career as a company dancer, and working in Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander community education.
