Nia Bellear

Nia is a proud Wakka Wakka Jarowair woman born and raised on Gadigal land. She also proudly acknowledges her Hungarian and Ni-Vanuatu heritage.

Nia started dance at age 3 with experience in various styles. She developed a passion for contemporary Indigenous dance in 2017 when she was a member of the NSW Department of Education’s ‘Gili Dancers’, where she discovered NAISDA Dance College and Bangarra Dance Theatre. Her interest developed after being a member of the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company in 2023 and 2024 where she performed at Schools Spectacular and State Dance Festival, and throughout both of these groups has worked with many inspiring Indigenous artists including Sidney Saltner, Sani Townson, Glory-Tuhoy Daniell, Johnny Brown, Holly Faulds and Amy Weatherall.

In 2025, Nia completed a year of full-time dance training with 100% Dance Pro where she developed her technical and performance skills in dance.

Nia wishes to graduate NAISDA in 2027 with an Advanced Diploma in professional dance, where she wishes to pursue contemporary or commercial dance by joining a professional dance company, or tour with a major artist.
