Neihanna Hippi is a proud Arawkal man who has spent most of his life between Byron Bay and Cabbage Tree Island located on the east coast of Australia, he grew up on Bundjalung country and has ties out west in Gamilaroi country from his mothers line. His artistic practice is deeply shaped by country, culture and community. He is currently studying for his certificant IV qualification in dance here at NAISA, his main focus is Contemporary indigenous dance and cultural dance.
He also enjoys ballet, hiphop and has a strong passion for music which includes singing and producing and creating artworks. Neihanna has done workshops within his community, including contemporary solo dancing and cultural dance. He and his cousin created a dance group called the Dubai Yawarr dance group and did a little bit of travelling and performing around his region for a couple of years. He performed in the 2025 end of year show (Echoing The Future directed and choreographed by Charles Koroneho. He’s also travel to Nyinyikay in Arnhem Land and learning culture and dance on country in 2025 and is looking forward for Mua island in 2026. Throughout all of those experiences Neihanna hopes to explore and learn more about culture and dance, in the future he aspires to join a professional dance company and share his knowledge and experiences with the next First Nation artists emerging.
