Leila Bellotti started her dance journey through her high school classes, she continued to take dance as a subject throughout high school where she discovered NAISDA. She’s had the opportunity to work with choreographers Vicki Van Hout, Henrietta Baird & Charles Koroneho through NAISDA’s end of year shows. She also trained with professional dancers from Bangarra Dance Theatre and Karul Projects throughout her years. Leila also had the opportunity to travel to the Torres Strait Islands and North East Arnhem Land as part of NAISDA’s remote cultural residency with cultural tutors Uncle Dujon Niue, Aunty Heather & Uncle Tony.
Once she graduates NAISDA, Leila hopes to join a company such as Karul Projects or Bangarra Dance Theatre, increasing her experience and travelling Australia dancing. Leila also aims to gain the skills to be able to teach dance so she can give back and help inspire people to build a connection with their culture. One day, she hopes to be a choreographer for a NAISDA end of year show.
