Latifah Quinlan grew up in Grafton, where she first discovered her passion and connection to Culture. Her journey later took her through several towns along the East Coast of Australia, giving her opportunities to engage with Indigenous groups from Brisbane to Sydney. She participated respectfully in cultural practices such as dot painting, weaving, tool making, fishing, dancing, and learning several languages. Since 2019, Latifah has lived on Darkinyung land on the Central Coast.
In 2023-2024, she expanded her cultural experience as a program facilitator at Cultural Choices, teaching students dot painting – work that eventually led to students painting NRL players’ boots for the Indigenous Round. She also supported cultural education and mental health awareness in First Nations communities. A year later, she successfully auditioned for NAISDA Dance College, where she is now studying a Certificate III in Dance Practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
