Elizabeth Butcher AM was the General Manager of NIDA from 1969-2008. During that time Elizabeth saw NIDA develop from a very small training school of some 40 students to the National theatre school of Australia. Elizabeth has been a member of the Australia Council and Chairman of the Theatre Board. She was also the Chairman of the Sydney Opera House Trust from 1989-1995.
She currently serves on the Board of SCEGGS Darlinghurst, the Seaborn, Walford Broughton Foundation, and Ars Musica Australis. She is a Director of both NAISDA Ltd and the NAISDA Foundation.
