Dr Christine Evans

Dr Christine Evans, Chief Education Officer, Aboriginal Education, Curriculum Standards, NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

Christine is a Wiradjuri woman with connection to the Mudgee region of NSW. Christine’s research has been focused on both the redesigning of Higher Education curriculum and in the evaluation of school-based teaching and learning practices. For several years Christine has worked as a secondary visual arts teacher and most recently in teacher education programs at the University of Technology Sydney in the areas of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australian Education and Visual Arts education.

Chris’ current work involves responsibility for NSW school-based, Aboriginal Studies and Aboriginal Languages syllabuses, and the representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in NSW syllabuses.
