Chetachi Nwaogazi is a proud Torres Strait Islander and Nigerian man with roots from Darnley and Murray Island who grew up on Gadigal country.With no formal dance training beyond school-based dance eisteddfods, Chetachi has cultivated a deep passion for dance. He had the opportunity to perform in The Bodyguard Musical in 2017, showcasing his versatility. He also performed his first end of year show in 2025 “Echoing the Future” Directed by Chalres Koroneho, Chetachi’s cultural dancing journey has taken him across Australia, where he has performed at prominent events including Yabun, the NAIDOC Ball, VIVID, and the All-Stars Game.
Dance holds great significance for him as a form of self-expression, allowing him to convey his emotions and identity through movement. Looking to the future, Chetachi aspires to become a professional backup dancer for major musicians. At NAISDA, he aims to hone his skills, gain industry insight, and share his unique cultural perspective with the world. His long-term goal is to make a lasting impact on the Australian dance community and inspire others through his work.
