ELIGIBILITY AND SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT
Due to the generosity of the Joanne Harris Scholarship Fund, NAISDA is able to offer an annual opportunity for Developing Artists in financial need. Each recipient will receive a $4,000 for the calendar year to specifically cover accommodation costs incurred. To be eligible for this scholarship, Developing Artists must have successfully completed their probation period at NAISDA and not be eligible for Abstudy living allowance.
Accommodation payments will be distributed directly, on a fortnightly basis to the accommodation service based on the successful applicants living arrangements.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND PROCESS
Scholarship funds are extremely limited and are awarded on a competitive basis. Scholarships will be awarded to talented, committed and in-need Developing Artists who demonstrate that they best meet the following criteria:
- Need: Demonstration of a clear financial need and why the applicant is most deserving of an Accommodation Bursary.
- Motivated: Demonstration of personal progress throughout studies
- Committed: A good record of attendance.
The assessment panel for this bursary will be made up of:
- NAISDA Chief Operating Officer
- A representative from the NAISDA Finance Team
- A representative from the NAISDA Wellbeing Team
Please note: Selection panel members cannot be related to the applicant.
Applications will be checked for eligibility. This will include confirmation of the applicant’s attendance record and other training details as necessary.
IMPORTANT DATES
2026 applications for the Joanne Harris Accommodation Program open Tuesday 26 May and close Tuesday 9 June.
Successful applicants will be informed by email.
CONDITIONS
By filling in an application applicants agree to:
- Accept the conditions and assessment process set out in the guidelines
- Cover any cost associated with accommodation expenses occurred whilst studying at NAISDA.
- Authorise NAISDA to obtain from relevant agencies, at any time information pertinent to determining your eligibility for this scholarship
- Any conditions which NAISDA may place on receipt of the scholarship
