As part of their cultural practice studies earlier this year, NAISDA Developing Artists created calico artworks telling their story of their connect to Country and celebrating the NAIDOC 2020 theme Always Was, Always Will Be.
An exhibition during NAIDOC, titled Gurayndja: Always, featured the DAs’ artworks – with some being auctioned off to raise money for a remote Aboriginal Community in Queensland.
In this short film, the DAs share the story of their artworks and what Gurayndja means to them in their own words.
