Wesley Enoch & Natalie Ahmat to address NAISDA’s Class of 2018 - 28.03.19

We are thrilled to announce our special guests for this year’s annual Graduation Ceremony. Renowned playwright and Sydney Festival Artistic Director Wesley Enoch will give the Keynote Address. He will be joined by celebrated journalist and NITV Presenter Natalie Ahmat as Master of Ceremonies.

The invite-only celebration of 2018 graduates will take place at NAISDA’s Mount Penang Parklands campus on Friday 12 April.

A storied theatre director with over 20 productions to his credit, Enoch will make the keynote speech to honour the graduating Diploma Developing Artists and launch the next phase of their careers.

Enoch has just completed his third year as Director of Sydney Festival, which began in 1977. Previously the Artistic Director of the Queensland Theatre Company, he is one of the most respected voices in Indigenous performing arts.

Enoch will be joined at the ceremony by Natalie Ahmat, presenter of NITV news who is passionate about telling Australian stories through an Indigenous lens.

Natalie is also a regular contributor on NITV’s current affairs program, The Point.

She has fronted NITV’s live coverage of significant Indigenous events, including Garma, the Uluru First Nations Constitutional Convention and the National NAIDOC Awards.

One of just eight elite performing arts training institutions in Australia, NAISDA boasts an enviable success rate among its graduates.

As per tradition, the ceremony will showcase Indigenous dance and culture, as well as present certificates of graduation, NAISDA Awards and the Chairman’s Award for artistic and academic excellence.

We look forward to sharing highlights from the Class of 2018 Graduation Ceremony via our Facebook, Tiwtter and Instagram on Friday 12 April.
