Dozens of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students from all over NSW have once again come together on Darkinjung land to celebrate their heritage, dance, and learn from the leading dance artists at NAISDA.
The week-long dance camp, called Garabara Ngurra, was a great success with all of the students having a great time learning traditional and contemporary cultural dances whilst helping NAISDA celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The students’ efforts from throughout the week culminated in a special public performance for the community that took place at NAISDA Dance College on Friday 26 August.
NAISDA is very proud of these young dancers’ efforts and we hope to see them visit us again either as students or audience members at one of our regular performance nights.
Here are some photos from the Garabara Ngurra performance, taken by Starshots Central Coast.
